The 2026 edition of the “Pioneers in Research” summer school is devoted entirely to technologies in the energy sector, a cutting-edge field in which FBK actively contributes to progress at both the national and European levels. Thirteen young talents took part, participating in workshops and engaging in discussions with experts on hydrogen, batteries, and advanced materials.

The researchers Maciej Marczak, Evans Pericoli and Giuseppe Sassone participated in the 21st edition of the OpenFOAM Workshop, which took place in Guimarães (Portugal), from June 29th – July 3rd, 2026 and was hosted by the Institute of Polymers and Composites from the University of Minho.

The 16th edition of the International Flow Battery Forum took place from 16 to 18 June 2026 in Budapest, Hungary, supported by Flow Batteries Europe.

Last week, on 22 and 23 April, our researchers Zaheer Ali and  Yasaman Nosrat Tajoddin represented FBK at the OpenLCA Conference 2026 in Berlin, Germany.

On 24 March, the 5th Local Council event of the NEVERMORE project took place online and brought together stakeholders from the Trentino Case Study to explore key ICT tools and policy recommendations developed.

Last February 19 and 20 in Rome, Gloria Gottardi (Senior Researcher and Scientific Advisor for Advanced Materials at FBK) and Emanuele De Bona (Researcher, FBK – Sustainable Energy Center) represented the Bruno Kessler Foundation at NEST Connect 2026, the national event dedicated to the strategic vision for the future of energy in Italy.
