OpenLCA

FBK at OpenLCA Conference

Last week, on 22 and 23 April, our researchers Zaheer Ali and  Yasaman Nosrat Tajoddin represented FBK at the OpenLCA Conference 2026 in Berlin, Germany.

This marks the second consecutive year of FBK Sustainable Energy Center’s participation in this important event, showing our commitment to advancing research and collaboration in the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) community.

During the conference, Zaheer Ali presented “Comparative LCA of Hydrogen Production Pathways”, providing insights into the environmental performance of different hydrogen production routes.

Yasaman Nosrat Tajoddin presented “Environmental Life Cycle Assessment of Hydrogen and Electric Road Mobility in the EU”, exploring the sustainability implications of alternative mobility solutions in the European context.

The OpenLCA Conference continues to be a key platform for bringing together experts from academia and industry to exchange knowledge and foster dialogue between LCA research and real-world applications.

Both contributions were developed in collaboration with Eleonora Cordioli, highlighting the team’s ongoing efforts in advancing robust sustainability assessment methodologies for hydrogen systems
