On 24 March, the 5th Local Council event of the NEVERMORE project took place online and brought together stakeholders from the Trentino Case Study to explore key ICT tools and policy recommendations developed.
Our Sustainability Manager Sara Stemberger is directly involved in the organization of these events since the beginning of the project in close cooperation with the Autonomous Province of Trento – Sport and Tourism Service (Case Study Leader). This in fact has been the last event planned for the project while a final event is expected in May in Trento.
This particular engagement session opened with welcoming remarks from the Autonomous Province of Trento – Sport and Tourism Service, who set the stage by outlining the objectives of the meeting and emphasizing the importance of collaborative feedback throughout the process.
The agenda continued with a presentation on the development and relevance of the Technical and Policy Recommendations by Chiara De Notaris (CMCC). This segment provided valuable context on how these recommendations were formulated by the research partners and how those can be useful to decision makers.
The focus of this particular Local Council was testing and exploring together with the local council members 2 out of 4 of the ICT Tools developed by the NEVERMORE Project:
- an EU/Global tool: supports the ex-ante evaluation of the impact of climate policies before their implementation. Based on the WILIAM Integrated Assessment Model, the tool simulates the potential effects of mitigation and adaptation policies. It helps users explore how different policy choices may influence climate-related indicators over time.
- The Local Case Study Tool supports policymakers, researchers, and local
- stakeholders in analyzing climate risks and identifying appropriate adaptation and mitigation responses at the regional level. The tool visualises the results of the risk analysis carried out within the NEVERMORE project and provides interactive information on climate hazards, vulnerabilities, and potential policy responses. It is designed to support decision-making in the five NEVERMORE case study regions.
Hence this event with our Trentino stakeholders was a crucial moment to anticipate project results, give an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with both tools through dedicated exercises and most importantly collect important feedbacks from the participants.
Nevermore is coming to its closure in May, stay tuned for the last events scheduled in Sweden and our local event in Trento!
