THOTH2

Novel MeTHOds of Testing for measurement of naTural gas and hydrogen mixtures
The EU-funded THOTH2 project aims to investigate metering technologies and develop dedicated test protocols to enable a safe and efficient repurposing of natural gas infrastructures for hydrogen usage
Clean Hydrogen Partnership
FEB 2023 – DEC 2026
  • Standardization and Metrology: The primary objective is to define new standards to evaluate the metrological performance of measurement devices, which includes their ability to accurately measure physical parameters of natural gas-hydrogen (NG-H2) mixtures with hydrogen percentages ranging from 0% up to 100%.
  • Safety and Durability: A crucial objective is to verify the safety and durability of these measuring devices when exposed to varying concentrations of hydrogen over time.
  • Future Needs and Recommendations: The project aims to identify and suggest future needs and requirements to overcome the barriers and limitations observed in current technology and infrastructure.

THE ROLE OF FBK

FBK is responsible for testing of leak detector devices and for the collection of the results from all experimental efforts. Furthermore, FBK is also supporting the management of the project.
