Costanzi Giordano

Giordano Costanzi is a Ph.D. student of Power Systems at the Centre for Sustainable Energy (FBK) and University of Trento. Previously, he attended the M.Sc. Course in Energy Engineering at the University of Trento where he graduated with a thesis concerning the development of an inertia-dependent security-constrained scheduling model to assess the techno-economic value of flexibility form different types of distributed assets towards the integration of large shares of renewable generation.

Giordano Costanzi also worked as research assistant at the University of Trento, contributing to the research activities of the OASIS-4-RES project funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU fund. His main research activities deal with the modelling of several flexible assets in advanced optimal inertia-dependent system scheduling model and the assessment of the feasibility of future low-carbon scenarios, with a particular focus on the coupling between BESS and Grid Forming converter.

Giordano Costanzi is author of two scientific publications (one currently under review) concerning frequency-constrained optimal system scheduling models also accounting for the flexibility enabled by grid-forming converters. Finally, he is co-supervisor of two M.Sc. thesis.
