Emanuele De Bona is a researcher at the Center for Sustainable Energy working in the HyRES Unit.

His main field of activity is high temperature electrolysis for green hydrogen production. His tasks include testing of reversible solid oxide cells (SOCs) and supporting the design and construction of test benches. Working at FBK since 2025, Emanuele is involved in various European and national research projects (Hy-SPIRE, GRAAL, INNOPHY, H2@TN).

Other research interests include testing and characterization of advanced coating materials for corrosion resistance in structural components of IV-generation small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs).

Emanuele holds a PhD in Physics (Material Science) and is member of Hydrogen Europe Research, association working in the green hydrogen sector. Previous working experience: 2016-2019 PhD student at JRC-KA and Université Paris-Saclay (France); 2020-2021 research fellow at HZDR (Germany) and ESRF (France); 2022-2024 research fellow at UNITN-DII (Italy).
