Ruben Bartali received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Trento, Italy. After an initial period (2002–2007) at ITC-IRST focusing on plasma technology, from 2007 he has been working at Fondazione Bruno Kessler at the Center for Materials and Microsystems. His research career has evolved through three key phases:
- Nanomaterials & Synthesis (until 2020): Focused on surface treatments and nanomaterials for energy applications, including advanced solar coatings, hydrogen storage, and graphene-based materials.
- System Integration (2018–2024): Shifted toward integrating nanomaterials into real-world applications and developing technological demonstrators.
- Emerging Technologies (2024–present): Currently active in the field of innovative energy technologies.
He has co-authored more than 75 scientific papers and holds three patents.
